A part of our human journey is the transformation of our hearts, and one of the ways Christians do this is through encountering people whose lives are very different from our own. Together with them, we engage in activities that reinforce the dignity that is inherent in the human nature we share. It might be listening to a child who is learning to read, but who, due to the economic circumstances of their family, have adults who are less available to be that listening ear. It might be working together to cook a large meal to serve at a monthly free community meal, it might be serving that meal or it might be sitting at the table with the other diners.
At Advent, we are exploring many ways that we might, as a small group, or as individuals, learn to love as God loves.
